Statement of faith
Bible-Driven · Gospel-Centered
We are a Bible-driven, Gospel-centered Baptist church. The ten articles below are what we publicly confess — the first five are doctrines held by orthodox churches across the centuries, the last five express the distinctives that shape how Baptists gather, decide, and witness.
Confessed across centuries by orthodox churches
- 01
The Bible
We believe the Holy Bible is the inspired, infallible, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God, the final foundation for all doctrine, faith, and practice in our Church. Scripture governs our teaching, decisions, and governance, and we submit all ministry and leadership to its authority.
2 Tim 3:16-17 · 2 Pet 1:20-21
- 02
The Triune God
We worship one God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—eternally existing in three persons, coequal in glory and power. God is the Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer of all things.
Deut 6:4 · Matt 28:19 · 2 Cor 13:14
- 03
Jesus Christ
We affirm that Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, is fully God and fully man. Through His virgin birth, sinless life, substitutionary death, bodily resurrection, and ascension, He accomplished redemption for all who believe. He is the Head of the Church and the Lord of all.
John 1:1, 14 · 1 Cor 15:3-4
- 04
Salvation
Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. All who repent and trust in Jesus Christ are justified, regenerated, and adopted into God’s family. The believer’s life is marked by sanctification through the Holy Spirit and obedience to God’s Word.
Eph 2:8-9 · Rom 3:23-25
- 05
The Church
The Church is the body of Christ, composed of baptized believers who covenant together for worship, discipleship, fellowship, and mission. ALSBC is autonomous and self‑governing under the Lordship of Christ; no external ecclesiastical body has binding authority over this Church. The congregation, under Christ, is the final earthly authority in matters of doctrine, membership, discipline, and governance.
John 3:5-6 · Rom 8:9-11 · 1 Cor 12:4-7
How Baptists gather, decide, and witness
- 06
Ordinances
We affirm two ordinances instituted by Christ: Baptism, by immersion, as a public testimony of faith and union with Christ; and The Lord’s Supper, as a memorial of Christ’s sacrifice and a proclamation of His death until He returns.
Eph 4:1-6 · Acts 2:42
- 07
Marriage and Family
Marriage is a covenant union ordained by God between one biological man and one biological woman. We affirm the call to uphold marriage with holiness, compassion, and biblical integrity. The family is a sacred institution designed for mutual love, discipleship, and the nurture of children in the faith.
Rev 21:1-4 · 1 Cor 15:51-58
